Commercial Healthcare Spend (2018-2021)

This state-by-state commercial healthcare spend dataset is an extension of Castlight’s 2022 Workforce Health Index, in which we analyzed over 160 million medical claims to equip HR and benefits leaders with key insights into healthcare utilization trends and forecasts for 2022 medical spend for the commercially insured.

This dataset provides an aggregate view of per member per year medical spend ($PMPY) at the state level for the prior four years, including a summary of the top five areas of spend by state.
